Kolkata Craft Combine Society or simply Craft Combine was started with a belief that art and craft have a therapeutic value that brings out the positive change in a human being. With this belief Craft Combine reaches out to artisans from all the districts across West Bengal to bring them under one umbrella. With an objective to give artisans their fair share and improve their livelihood, Craft Combine contributes a substantial part of its sales proceeds to the welfare of artisans both directly and indirectly through WBKVIB, Government of West Bengal.
About Us
About Craft CombineCraft Combine is a registered Non Government Organisation. We work with different departments of the State Government, various khadi societies, weaving communities and other stakeholders across the state. Craft Combine lays a lot of importance on innovation and value addition to heritage textiles. We develop fabric like pure khadi, muslin, cotton, silk, tussar and khes. From these hand woven fabrics we create trendy garments and accessories, life style products and jewelleries under the brand name of Craft and Weft. We also produce designer handicrafts and eco-friendly gift items for the corporate sector.
We promote designs, production and use of sustainable alternatives. We aim to create harmony between the artisans’ environment, culture and the commercial value of craft.
We have already trained more than 2600 artisans and diffrent SHG groups to the extent of more than 50 odd groups.
Our livelihood intervention and market linkage has benefitted several artisans and more to be covered in near future through the ongoing projects. A 360 degree approach with an end to end intervetion ,has been our key to consistent success.
A large part of our work is towards the economic upliftment of artisans, craftsmen and farmers. Through projects on livelihood and enterprise and cluster development we aim to empower them towards economic independence and self-sustenance. Craft Combine also works with the lesser privileged children of the society. Children from slums participate in various activities of art and craft and attend evening tutorial classes.
With the help of Tata Consultancy Services separate adult literacy drives have been undertaken amongst the underpriviledged.

Craft & Weft is a mark owned by Craft Combine. A range of modern, fashionable dress designs are marketed under Craft & Weft. The products are easy on the pocket yet premium in image. They are a combine of heritage and contemporary. With in-house designers we ensure that no design is replicated making each a unique piece.
Being under the banner of Craft Combine, Craft & Weft branded products are under constant scrutiny for quality standards. All dress materials are crafted from 100% hand spun thread and hand woven fabric coloured with natural dyes. Our knowledge and experience on reviving muslin have enabled us to integrate this mesmerising fabric into designer wear from Craft & Weft. We are inherently committed to take muslin to every wardrobe and home.
Our outlet at Dumdum and design studio have already reeled interesting and alluring line of products drawing applause from all quarters.
